Also: gamma-casein(114-121). This bioactive peptide from the minor bovine casein, casein-gamma (encoded by Csn1s2a [Alpha-s2-casein-like A; Casein-alpha-s2-like A]). It has the sequence YPVEPFTE (Tyr-Pro-Val-Gln-Pro-Phe-Thr-Glu) and has been described originally by Lebrun et al (1995) and subsequently by Perpetuo et al (2003). The peptide is generated by trypsin hydrolysis. It has antihypertensive activity and has been shown to potentiate the activity of bradykinin on isolated guinea pig ileum. In vitro, the peptide also acts as a competitive inhibitor for angiotensin-1 converting enzyme
