TLQP-21 |

A receptor with a death domain identified in Xenopus laevis (Tamura et al, 2004). For a related protein (71.7 % identity) see: xDR-M1. Overexpression of xDR-M2 induces cell death by apoptosis and activates caspase-8, c-Jun N-terminal kinase, and NF-kappa-B. These effects are blocked by a caspase-8 inhibitor. Ishizawa YH et al (2006) have reported that xDR-M1 interacts with Xenopus laevis FADD, RIP1, and its splice variant RIP1-beta.
