[type 1 phagocyte]
This term has been used by Kotani et al (1977) to describe macrophages in the germinal center of lymph nodes. As opposed to type 2 phagocytes, which migrate from the peripheral tissues, type 1 phagocytes are fixed macrophages and are the same as tingible body macrophages.
