Tryptophanyl-tRNA synthetase(94-471) |
tryptophyllin AcT-3 |
neutrophilopoietin |

This peptide from the skin secretion of the red-eyed leaf frog, Agalychnis callidryas has been identified by Ge et al (2014). The peptide, GMRPPWFamide, is a member of a group of small (4-14 amino acids), heterogenous peptides, termed Tryptophyllins, which are found mostly in the skins of hylid frogs from the genera Phyllomedusa and Litoria. A synthetic replicate of AcT-2 has myotropic activities and relaxes arterial smooth muscle and contracts rat urinary bladder smooth muscle. AcT-2 is also an antimicrobial peptide and inhibits the growth of Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli, and Candida albicans.
