approved gene symbol CALML3. This secreted protein has been identified independently as CLP [calmodulin-like protein] (Rogers et al, 2001), GH6 protein (Koller and Strehler, 1988) and Calmodulin-related protein NB-1 (Yaswen et al, 1990).
Rogers et al (2001) have reported that upregulated expression of the protein appears to be linked to the initiation of keratinocyte differentiation. The protein has been shown to bind to Myosin-10, a protein involved in processes ranging from filopodial formation and extension to spindle orientation during cell division. Both proteins colocalize at the cell periphery of mammary carcinoma cells
