[adhesion related kinase] This murine tyrosine kinases has been identified by Rescigno et al (1991). The ARK transmembrane protein is the murine homolog of human axl. Bellosta et al (1995) have reported that ARK acts as a cell adhesion molecule that can mediate cell aggregation by homophilic interactions and may regulate cellular functions during cell recognition. The receptor for one of the gas genes (gas-6).
