Tanapoxvirus 2L protein |
Tanapoxvirus 38 kDa protein |
T suppressor factor for macrophage phagocytosis |
||
abbr. TPV-15L. This protein is encoded in the genome of the yatapoxvirus Tanapoxvirus (Jeng et al, 2013). The protein is an EGF-like growth factor mimicking human neuregulin. The viral protein binds heparin and has the ability to phosphorylate neuregulin receptors. Virus mutants lacking the 15L gene replicate in human umbilical vein endothelial cells less efficiently than wild-type virus. The protein has been shown to bind to the neuregulin receptor heterodimer erbB2 / erbB3.
