this antigen, recognised by a monoclonal antibody of the same name has been given the designation CD298 in the nomenclature of CD antigens. The antigen has been shown to be identical with the beta-3 regulatory subunit of the sodium/potassium-dependent ATPase Na+/K+ ATPase, termed ATPB-3, ATP1B3 [Na+/K+ ATPase beta 3] (Chiampanichayakul et al, 2002).
