MCH4

[mammalian CED3 homolog-4] The gene encoding MCH4 (479 amino acids) has been cloned from Jurkat T-lymphocytes (Fernandes-Alnemri et al, 1996). MCH4 is a protease related to IL1-beta Convertase. MCH4 is most closely related to MCH5 and both proteins are members of a family of proteases, known as Caspases, which are involved in cell death by apoptosis. It has been suggested that MCH4 be renamed Caspase-10 (Alnemri et al, 1996).
