This term has multiple meanings:
(-1-) This is an older designation for glutamyl aminopeptidase, which has been characterized as amurine B-cell differentiation antigen by Wu et al (1991). (The acronym is derived from 'E', which is the one letter amino acids code, and 'AP' for aminopeptidase. The protein is aminopeptidase A.
The cDNA for the human counterpart has been cloned by Li et al (1993) based on the sequence of the murine gene.
In the nomenclature of CD antigens this protein has been given the designation CD249.
