[C1q/TNF-related protein 8] CTRP8 is a member of the CTRP family (see: C1q family). It is characterized by the presence of a C1q domain as found in complement factor C1q. The approved gene symbol for this protein is C1QTNF8 [Complement C1q tumor necrosis factor-related protein 8, C1q and tumor necrosis factor related protein 8].
Human CTRP8 has been identified by Peterson et al (2009). CTRP8 is a pseudogene in mice (Peterson et al, 2009). CTRP8 is expressed predominantly in lung and testis. The protein can form heterooligomers with a related member of the C1q family, C1QL1 [
