Acrogranin is an acidic cysteine-rich glycoprotein of 67 kDa. Guinea pig and mouse acrogranin are homologous with the precursor of the human and rat peptides termed epithelins and granulins (Baba et al, 1993. The precursor, which is being referred to also as PEPI [progranulin] or GEP [granulin/epithelin precursor], has been described also as PCDGF [PC cell-derived growth factor].
